After yesterday’s 1st Epos-France Meeting and the launch of its websites, today marks the third and final first (of sorts) stage with the publication of the first Epos-France Newsletter.

In this first issue, “Life of Epos-France”, with, as promised, all the summaries of the workshops held during the Rencontres in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. A tribute to Didier Brunel, who passed away last spring, and portraits of the new recruits to the Communications and Promotion team complete the section.

In the “Engineering and Instrumentation” section, the focus is on the geochemistry of volcano gases, the mobilization around the La Laigne earthquake and the Envirosciences-Pyrenees project, a dense network of multi-parameter stations to understand tectonic and hydro-gravitational hazards in the central Pyrenees.

The new seismotectonic model for the French West Indies is featured in the new “Data” section, while b-value and a lake for a long-term seismometer are discussed in the “Research” section.

You’ll also find some dates for upcoming events at the end of the issue, along with the announcement of the publication of our websites.

Happy reading!
